Gentleness Isn’t Weak – It’s Wisdom in Action
“A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.” — Proverbs 15:1
Gentleness often gets misunderstood. We confuse it with passivity or being overly soft. But true gentleness is strength under control—it’s courage wrapped in compassion.
Jesus was the perfect picture of gentleness. He could calm storms and call out demons, yet He knelt down to wash feet and welcomed children with open arms. When the Holy Spirit grows gentleness in us, it doesn’t make us smaller—it makes us more like Him.
Gentleness invites peace into the room. It defuses tension, slows our anger, and holds space for healing. In a loud, opinionated world, gentle people stand out. Not because they’re silent, but because they carry the heart of Christ.
Take a moment to consider:
Where are you being called to respond with gentleness instead of reacting in frustration? Ask the Spirit to help you speak with grace and lead with mercy.
Let’s pray,
Jesus, teach me to be gentle like You. Help me carry both truth and tenderness in every conversation. Make me a safe place for others to experience Your love. Amen.
